Dodge Caravan Front Dash Tweeter Removal

The Dodge Caravan minivan came with dash tweeter speakers. These speakers are mounted in the dash, right beneath the edge of the windshield. There is one speaker on each side of the dash. If you intend to replace the dash speakers, first remove the old ones. Because the edge of the inside windshield header panel covers the dash tweeter speaker panel, you'll have to remove it first before you can access the speaker panel. The procedure is the same on all model years for the final Dodge Caravan design, 2001 to 2007.

Things You'll Need

  • Pliers
  • Trim stick
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Use your pliers to loosen the negative battery cable's nut. Pull the negative battery cable away from the battery terminal to unhook it for safety.

  • Pry around the seams of the inside windshield header panel with your trim stick to unhook the panel's clips. This is the vertical panel that runs between the windshield and the door window on either side. Remove the panel from one side, then from the other side.

  • Pry around the seams of the upper dash cover. This is the long panel that covers the two tweeter speakers. It runs from one side of the dash to the other. Pull the panel away from the dash to remove it. You'll now have access to the dash tweeter speakers.

  • Remove the two Phillips screws from the dash tweeter speaker mount. Lift the speaker up. You'll see a connection plug on the other side. Unplug it. Move to the other side and remove the other speaker's screws and unplug its connection plug.
