My Car Audio System Won't Eject CDs

If a CD becomes stuck in your car's audio system, it can be frustrating and a possibly dangerous distraction. There is a quick solution to this problem.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Paperclip (or pen)
  • Remove the faceplate of the CD player in your car's audio system. You can do this by unscrewing all of the outward facing screws on the faceplate and gently lifting the plate off the dash.

  • Insert your key into your car's ignition and turn it to the "Acc" position.

  • Press the "Reset" button underneath the faceplate using a pen or paperclip and hold the button until the CD player switches off and then back on. The disc should eject. Replace the faceplate on your audio system.
