B303 Cam Shafts Specifications

The B303 is an aftermarket camshaft specifically designed for the Ford Mustang 5.0L V8 engine. You can use the B303 camshaft with Mustangs from as early as 1985, or with any other vehicle that has a 302 engine with a roller tappet cam. The camshaft is recommended for Mustangs with a manual transmission. You may need to install other aftermarket products on your vehicle with this camshaft to maximize its effectiveness. General Camshaft Specifications

  • The B303 camshaft has a hydraulic roller lifter and a rocker ratio of 1.6. The aftermarket camshaft's official part number is M-2650-B303. The camshaft gives the engine better low-end torque, more high-end horsepower, and a decent idle.

Intake Specifications

  • The intake valve opens at 5 degrees before top dead center (BTC) and closes at 39 degrees after bottom dead center (ABC). The intake valve has a total opening duration of 284 degrees and total closing duration of 224 degrees. The intake has a lobe lift of 0.3 inches and a valve lift of 0.48 inches. The intake has a lobe center of 107 degrees.

Exhaust Specifications

  • The exhaust valve opens at 49 degrees before bottom dead center (BBC) and closes at 5 degrees BTC. The exhaust valve has a total opening duration of 284 degrees and total closing duration of 224 degrees. The intake has a lobe lift of 0.3 inches and a valve lift of 0.48 inches. The exhaust has a lobe center of 117 degrees.

General Notes

  • Vehicles with an electronic fuel injection (EFI) system must have a mass air induction system for the B303 camshaft to work properly. You should check the piston and valve clearance to ensure a proper fit. You should use a hi-stall torque converter if you are using the B303 camshaft on a vehicle with an automatic transmission.
