How to Look Up Chevrolet Vehicle Options With the VIN Number

A vehicle identification number (VIN) can be used to look up the different option available for your Chevrolet. Every vehicle after 1981 has a 17-character, alphanumeric sequence, that is unique. They are like the vehicles fingerprint and can be used to research a vehicle before purchase, keep up-to-date on the latest service notification on your vehicle and to see any aftermarket options available to your Chevrolet.

  • Locate the VIN number on the vehicle. The VIN is located in several different places throughout the vehicle, but the simplest locations to find are the sticker on the door and the stamp in the front windshield on the driver's side.

  • Write down the 17-character alphanumeric VIN. You will need to have this sequence ready when looking up vehicle option.

  • Visit the GM Owner Center online to look up the options that are available for your vehicle or go to a local Chevrolet dealer or parts store and provide them with the VIN number and they can inform you of the options available for your vehicle.
