Instructions for Programming a 2006 Honda Ridgeline Key FOB

Honda's first pickup truck model, the Honda Ridgeline is a mid-sized sport-utility truck that has been in production in the United States since 2005. The Ridgeline's keyless entry system offers added convenience, allowing owners to operate their truck's power locks remotely. Programming a Honda keyless entry fob to your 2006 Ridgeline truck is a simple process that can be completed in minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Honda Ridgeline key
  • Keyless entry fob
  • Check to ensure that the doors, tailgate and hood of your 2006 Honda Ridgeline are closed before beginning the programming process for the keyless entry fob.

  • Insert the key to your Honda Ridgeline into the ignition cylinder of the vehicle. Turn the key to the second, or "On" ignition position.

  • Push the "Lock" or "Unlock" button on the Honda keyless entry fob within four seconds of completing Step 2.

  • Toggle the Ridgeline key between the "On" and "Off" ignition positions in this sequence: "Off," "On."

  • Point the keyless entry fob towards the receiver unit located in the ceiling of the Honda Ridgeline. Press the "Lock" or "Unlock" button on the keyless entry fob.

  • Repeat Steps 4 and 5 two additional times before proceeding to Step 7.

  • Listen for the Ridgeline's power locks to perform an automatic locking cycle. Push the "Lock" or "Unlock" button on the keyless entry fob within four seconds of hearing the locks cycle.

  • Turn the Ridgeline's key to the "Off" ignition position and remove it from the ignition cylinder.
