A Sunpro air fuel gauge is a fairly inexpensive item that offers the same performance as more expensive gauges. These are used to measure the air pressure created in the engine. The gauge will display a lean measure if the air mixture in the engine is too lean. It will display a too rich measure if the engine has too much air pressure. Install a Sunpro air fuel gauge on your vehicle in a few steps.
Mount your Sunpro air fuel gauge on your vehicle by using a drill or rotary tool to make a hole in the dash where you would like it mounted. Use the supplied mounting brackets to secure the gauge into place. Tighten the screws of the mounting bracket using a flathead screwdriver.
Route the oxygen sensor wire, or O2 sensor signal wire and the engine ground wire into the cabin of the vehicle through a hole in the firewall of your dash. Use a wire stripper and strip some of the insulation off of the O2 sensor signal wire. Find your oxygen sensor wire, located in the harness of your vehicle. See your vehicle's manual. Strip part of the covering off of the O2 sensor wire in the harness and wire the two wires together. Use some solder on the wire to secure it in place.
Insert the negative wire from the gauge into an electrical crimp connector after you have stripped part of the wire insulation away. Place the round electrical crimp connector around a nut on the metal frame of the vehicle.
See the power diagram of your vehicle to determine an area to wire your power supply into. Strip the end off the power wire and insert it into the power supply fuse. This fuse will allow the gauge to be operational while you have the key in the ignition and the vehicle running.
