How do I Connect a BlackBerry to a Car Stereo?

Blackberrys can hold a lot of music in its small body. The speakers on the Blackberry mobile may be hard to hear sometimes and may require connection to a larger sound system such as a car stereo. Consider connecting your Blackberry to your car stereo to pump up the volume. This connection will allow you to use your Blackberry to play music through your car stereo system. Depending on your car stereo, connection from your Blackberry to your sound system will require using one to two plugs.

Things You'll Need

  • Blackberry
  • Audio cable with 3.5 mm auxiliary input jacks or RCA type connectors (depends upon car stereo)
  • Set the volume of your Blackberry to a comfortable listening volume.

  • Check to see if you car stereo has a auxiliary input jack in the front part of the stereo. This is usually labeled "Aux."

  • Plug one end of the audio cable with 3.5mm stereo plugs into the Blackberry's headphone jack. Plug the other end of the audio cable with 3.5mm stereo plugs into the auxiliary input jack on the stereo. Play a song on your Blackberry to test the sounds through your stereo. If you do not have an auxiliary input jack, skip to the next step.

  • Check to see if your stereo has RCA auxiliary input jacks.

  • Plug one end of the audio cable with RCA type connectors into the Blackberry's headphone jack. Plug the other end with two plugs into the RCA auxiliary input jack on the stereo. Play a song on your Blackberry to test the sounds through your stereo.
