How to Replace Sun Visor on Honda Civic

The sun visors on a Honda Civic tend to take a lot of abuse. Some people like to keep their registration and keys in there, they're often being used to apply makeup, and over time, the constant wear and tear of being pulled up and down starts to degrade the quality and finish. The fix is to replace your stock sun visors, be it with aftermarket models, factory replacements or just reupholstering your own.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Replacement sun visor
  • Sit in the driver's seat and look up at the visor. With the visor still clipped in the retaining clip on the headliner, unscrew the base of the visor from the roof using a Phillips-head screwdriver. When the last screw is out, pull out the visor and set it to the side.

  • Place the new visor on the factory clip and screw in one screw using a phillips-head screwdriver, but leave it loose. Then move the visor around off of the clip, so that you can access the other screws easily, and then loosely tighten them into place. Once you're sure everything fits correctly, tighten them all down using the Phillips-head screwdriver.

  • Repeat the process for the passenger side if necessary.
