How to Make Jeep Wheels Fit on an S10

Installing a set of Jeep wheels on a Chevy S-10 pickup could be a challenge. You will need to measure the wheel bolt circle on the S-10 and the bolt circle on the wheels you want to use. Jeep never used a standard bolt pattern on their wheels, and from model to model there are differences. One option is to purchase a set of wheel adapters for the S-10 with the correct bolt pattern to allow you to bolt the wheel on. Along with the bolt circle, you will need to verify that the wheel has a back space and width that will fit the S-10 as well.

Things You'll Need

  • Tape measure
  • Measure the wheel bolt circle on your S-10 pickup using a tape measure. You will need to measure across the studs to do this. Record the number for use later.

  • Measure the bolt circle on the Jeep wheels and determine if they are the same as the circle on the S-10. If they are not, you will need to adapt the wheels to fit the truck. Custom adapters can be ordered from many different wheel companies and performance shops.

  • Compare the width of the S-10 wheel to the Jeep wheel. You can measure the width with a tape measure by measuring from the front, inner bead mounting surface to the rear bead mounting surface. If the wheels are different widths, you may run into clearance problems, causing damage to the wheel, tire or truck.

  • Measure the back spacing on the Jeep wheels and compare that to the S-10 wheels. Again, if these numbers are very different, you may run into clearance issues. Wheel spacers are available to help off set back spacing concerns on most vehicles; or if you are having a custom wheel adapter built, have them add the spacing you need to the adapter.
