Bumper and car window stickers are way to express yourself out on the open road and keep things interesting for the driver behind you. But if you plan to sell your car, or buy a new one, bumper and window stickers can actually decrease the value of your vehicle and lose you money. If you are readying your car to sell or looking to remove those pesky stickers from your new vehicle, we've got some hints to help you send those stuck-on stickers packing!
Use your fingernail to try and gently lift the edges of the sticker and peel it back gently. Depending on how long the sticker has been there this may or may not work. If it does, then you're one of the lucky ones. If not, proceed to Step 2.
Use WD40 to lubricate the sticker. Spray the sticker generously with WD40 and let it sit for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes use a plastic scraper to lift the sticker and peel it off.
Break out the hairdryer. If the WD40 just didn't do the trick, try using a hairdryer on its highest setting to melt the sticker's adhesive. After a few minutes you should be able to use the plastic scraper to scrape away the sticker.
Remove the residual adhesive. Use gasoline, rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover or a specially formulated product like Goo Gone to remove the adhesive from your car's surface. Just wet a lint-free rag with the adhesive remover of your choice and buff until the residue is gone.
Finish the job with a nice coat of wax. Good luck!
