How to Remove Dirt From Leather Car Seats

Cars, like your house, need to be cleaned from time to time. If the weather has been bad, it is easy to track dirt and mud in to the car. If you have children, they may walk across the car seats with dirty shoes, leaving dirt all over your leather. There are many ways to clean dirt out of a car, but it is important to take care of your leather car seats when you do it.

Things You'll Need

  • Vacuum with hose attachment
  • Rags
  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
  • Pledge Natural Beauty Wipes
  • Vacuum up as much of the dirt as you can. Use the hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner. Carefully go over all of the seats first and then proceed to the floors. If the dirt is dry, you will be able to get most of it up.

  • Allow wet dirt to dry overnight and then vacuum it up the next day as you did in step one. If you can't wait for it to dry, dampen a rag and sweep the dirt up in it. Then, wipe the seats down with a clean, dry rag.

  • Buy a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser from your grocery store. This product will remove any stains that have been left on your leather seats. Just wet the Magic Eraser a little bit and rub over the stain. It will magically disappear.

  • Finish your leather seats by wiping them down with Pledge Natural Beauty Wipes. These wipes are made to use on leather. They will get your leather seats nice and clean for an affordable price. There is a spray form of this product. If you choose to use it, use it with a microfiber cloth.
