How to Clean the Seats in a Ford F150 Truck

Keeping a vehicle immaculate on the inside is a mark of pride for many car and truck owners. It doesn't matter what kind of vehicle you have, a clean interior makes you feel good about your car and your ability to maintain it. Large trucks, like Ford's F150, have larger-than-average interiors and can hold larger-than-average messes. Keep your truck's seats clean to ensure a pleasant and comfortable driving experience.

Things You'll Need

  • Vacuum cleaner with attachment
  • Mild household cleaner
  • Spray bottle
  • Scrubbing brush
  • Cleaning rags
  • Attach the upholstery tool to your vacuum cleaner and turn it on. Use the tool to suck up dirt, crumbs and other detritus between any seams on your seat. Pay careful attention to the union of the seat and back rest because this area can hold a lot of small refuse.

  • Prepare a solution of warm water and mild cleaner in a spray bottle. If your seats are cloth, you can use laundry detergent. Leather seats can tolerate a mild cleaner like Pine Sol diluted with a small amount of water.

  • Spray the surface of the seats with the solution and vigorously scrub them with the brush to remove any dirt that has been absorbed into the pores of the upholstery material.

  • Wipe down the seats immediately after scrubbing with a damp cloth. This will remove excess cleaner and prevent any lifted dirt from settling back down into the seat.

  • Wipe down the seats thoroughly with a dry cloth to remove excess moisture. Let them dry with the windows down to expose them to fresh, circulating air.
