Tuck and roll seat covers are more padded than other seat covers. These covers are often pleated and may be more comfortable than traditional seat covers. Homemade seat covers look more personal than commercial ones and allow you to experiment with patterns and colors. Consider using a durable fabric such as vinyl if your seats suffer from a lot of wear and tear.
Measure the dimensions of the seats. If the truck has a bench seat, measure the dimensions of the entire bench. Find a measurement for the length, width and depth of the seats.
Design a pattern based on the measurements. Make a separate pattern for the top and bottom portion of the seats. Add 2 to 3 inches of fabric on each side of the seat cover.
Draw the pattern on a piece of fabric using fabric chalk, and cut out the pattern. Make sure to cut out two copies of each portion of the pattern.
Sew seat covers together. Place the two identical pieces of fabric that form the top of the seat cover together, inside-out. Run the fabric through the sewing machine. Make sure to leave the bottom of the seat cover open so that you may add padding. Use the same sewing techniques for the bottom portion of the seat cover.
Cut foam padding according to the dimensions in Step 1.
Turn seat covers right-side-out and place foam padding inside the seat covers.
Sew the top and bottom portion of the seat cover together. Sew along the line where the top and bottom of the seat covers meet.
