Road paint is used to mark lines on the road. If you get road paint onto your vehicle or some other object, removing the paint is surprisingly easy. Try to remove the paint as soon as possible to make it easier. This procedure works for any vehicle, and it also works for other plastic or metal objects covered in road paint.
Take the car to a car wash that has a pressure washer as soon as possible after getting road paint on the car. These car washes use detergents and brushes effective for removing road paint. Try to wash the car no more than 12 hours after driving into the road paint. Road paint is slow-drying on the surface of a vehicle, and it should remove easily with a pressure wash up to the 12-hour mark.
Spray some metal lubricant over any remaining road paint, or over road paint more than 12 hours old. Allow the lubricant to sit for two hours. Wipe away the lubricant with a soft cloth. Buff the painted surface with the lubricant-covered cloth to remove stubborn road paint from the vehicle. Wash the vehicle in a pressure car wash again to loosen any remaining paint.
Apply a coating of petroleum jelly over any paint that remains on the surface of the vehicle. Allow the petroleum jelly to sit on top of the road paint for about 12 hours. Wipe the jelly off of the vehicle and buff the road paint with a soft cloth. This should remove any remaining road paint. Wash the vehicle in a pressure car wash one last time.
Rub the previously painted area of the car with a cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol. This removes any paint residue and helps prepare the vehicle surface for waxing.
Buff car wax over the previously painted area of the vehicle with a soft cloth, pressing vigorously. This restores shine to the vehicle and will return the vehicle to its former appearance. You should no longer be able to tell road paint was ever on the vehicle.
