How to Clean Car Tires With Cooking Spray

Some people love to wash their cars, but some folks hate to be bothered with it at all. Tires are one of the more annoying parts of the car to scrub. Sometimes it seems like they just never look clean! The main reason for this is that the grime you see on your tires is brake dust, mixed with a healthy amount of dirt. The brake dust is intent on sticking to your wheels, so you will need a little extra help to get the sparkle back. There is no need to run out to the store and buy an expensive tire cleaner, you can use something you probably already have in your kitchen. The following article will show you how to clean your tires with cooking spray.

Things You'll Need

  • Cooking spray
  • Water hose
  • Tire brush or clean cloth
  • Spray the tires liberally with the hose so that they are completely saturated.

  • Wipe the tires off with a clean cloth or tire brush. This will help loosen some of the crud before you hit it with the heavy stuff!

  • Rinse the tire with water again. Wipe the tire completely dry with a cloth.

  • Spray the tire with cooking spray and allow it to sit for a minute. The oil in the spray will help remove the ground in dirt, as well as make your tire shine.

  • Wipe the tire off with the brush again, rinse again, and spray on a final coat of cooking oil. Lightly wipe this coat off, but be gentle so you don't remove all of the oil and lose the shine.
