How to Reset the Maintenance Light on a 2008 Volvo C70 T5

For decades, most experts agreed that Volvo cars were safe, reliable and luxurious, but their boxy and unstyled bodies would never win them any beauty pageants. This rang true until the release of the swanky C70 coupe and sedan in 1998. Sure, the C70 was still no beauty queen, but it at least lacked the box-on-wheels look that plagued Volvo for so many years. The 2007 C70 featured a service reminder light to help you keep track of the car's required maintenance, and resetting this light is simple.

Resetting the Service Reminder Light

  • With the driver's door open, insert the key into the ignition and press and hold the odometer reset button on the instrument cluster. Turn the ignition key to position II and wait until the service reminder light starts flashing. Release the odometer reset button, then turn the ignition off. Start the vehicle and verify that the service reminder light is off. If the light remains on, turn the engine off and repeat the procedure.
