How to Change Oil in a ProCharger

There are a few different ways to change the oil on the ProCharger. You can choose to use a socket wrench with extensions but the engine block will be tight with a ProCharger in place, so you may lose the extension before you ever reach the correct area for this procedure. You can also loosen different pulleys, belts and other engine items to gain access, but this approach takes a lot of time. The most convenient option is to get a quick oil drain kit.

Things You'll Need

  • Car jack
  • Drip pan
  • Quick oil drain kit
  • 1 bottle of ProCharger Oil
  • Raise the front end of your vehicle up with a car jack. Make sure the emergency brake is engaged and the engine is turned off. Raise the hood and remove the oil dip stick for ventilation.

  • Crawl under the engine and position the oil drip pan below your drain plug. Turn the drain plug with a socket wrench in a counterclockwise direction to remove it. Allow the oil to drain completely into the drain pan.

  • Connect the drain plug from your oil drain kit where the stock drain plug was positioned in a clockwise direction. This will have a male fitting on it. Make sure not to over-tighten this plug.

  • Grab the drain hose from your drain kit and connect it to the new male plug fitting. Tighten in a clockwise direction until snug. The other end of this hose should be strung to the top of the engine. This hose is the hose in the kit that is not connected to the pump assembly.

  • Use an Allen wrench to remove the Allen bolt that is near your oil dipstick hole on your engine black. Connect the aluminum bracket that came with your kit onto your ProCharger in that location. Secure it in place with a long Allen bolt and washer from the kit.

  • Grab the hose on the pump assembly and connect it to the male fitting that you attached near the dipstick. You will have to pull the ring back on the hose to connect it properly.

  • Check the lid on your pump's reservoir. Make sure it is on tight.

  • Grasp the pump handle with your hand. Squeeze and release the handle until you hear a sucking sound like you reached the bottom of your beverage with a straw. This will take about 10 or more handle compressions to complete. This will suck the oil from the ProCharger into the pump reservoir.

  • Disconnect the hose of your pump assembly from the male fitting.

  • Pour a bottle of ATI oil into the fill hole on your ProCharger. You should only need one unit of oil for this. Check the fluid level with the dipstick to make sure it is at the appropriate level. Put the dipstick back into position when you are done.
