How to Turn Off the Acura ABS System

The Honda Acura comes equipped with an anti-lock brake system. This helps keep the Acura's wheels turning at the same speed through sensors located under the car. This makes braking in harsh weather more effective. To turn off the ABS system in an Acura, remove the fuse that controls the ABS system. The fuse is in the primary fuse box under the hood. This will disable the ABS system until it is put back in.

  • Turn off the Acura's engine.

  • Open the Acura's hood and find the primary fuse box in the engine compartment on the driver's side. Push the tabs on the fuse box to open it.

  • Remove the fuse puller on the underside of the primary fuse box lid.

  • Pull the fuse marked "18," using the fuse puller, out of the primary fuse box to disable the ABS system. Replace the fuse puller. Close the lid on the primary fuse box. Close the hood of the Acura.
