How to Change a Miata Headlight

The Mazda Miata is a sporty roadster made for speed and handling. It's small, and replacing parts can be tricky. The headlight is an exception to the rule. Changing it out takes just a few minutes.

  • Unplug the electrical socket from the back of the bulb. The electrical connector pulls away from the back of the bulb/socket.

  • Grasp the rubber cover and pull it away from the headlight assembly.

  • Separate the clip to release the bulb. The clip is similar to a safety pin.

  • Place the new bulb into the headlight assembly. Push the clip back over the socket to secure the bulb.

  • Push the rubber cover back in place. Ensure the cover is flush to the headlight assembly.

  • Push the electrical connector to the back of the bulb. The connector locks in place.
