Things You'll Need

  • Socket and ratchet set
  • Raise and secure the hood. Remove the bolt securing the battery retaining strap with a socket and ratchet. Set the retaining strap aside.

  • Remove the negative battery cable with a socket and ratchet. Remove the positive cable with a socket and ratchet.

  • Lift the battery out of the compartment. Insert the new battery in the tray. Secure the retaining strap and tighten the bolt with a socket and ratchet.

  • Attach the positive battery cable. Tighten the cable with a socket and ratchet. Attach the negative battery cable and tighten it with a socket and ratchet.

  • Close the hood. Start the engine to test the battery.
