Some Chargers come with Dodge's EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information Center); others do not. Those equipped with EVIC have a system monitor. This monitor reminds you when your Charger is due for an oil change, has a bad bulb, or needs other attention. Once the oil is changed, the Charger's system requires resetting. In most cases, the dealer resets the system for you, but you may have to do it yourself from time to time.
Remove your key from the ignition switch, and then re-insert it. Turn it to "On," but don't start the engine. If you accidentally start the engine, simply turn the key one notch to the left.
Push the accelerator pedal down three times. Allow it to spring back completely after each time, but move quickly. This must be done within 10 seconds.
Turn your key to "Off," remove it, and then re-insert it. Turn the key back to "On." The "Change Oil" message should be cleared. If it's not, you probably did not perform the procedure fast enough. Repeat the procedure if necessary.
