Over time a cars headlights will build up inner condensation and become cloudy and cause your headlights not to shine properly. Follow this step by step article for restoring your headlight lenses back to normal by cleaning out the inner condensation.

Things You'll Need

  • Battery powered drill
  • A Buffer bit for the drill.
  • A clean rag
  • Lemon oven cleaner
  • Screwdriver to remove the headlight lense covers.
  • Water
  • The first step to restoring your cars headlight lenses back to normal is to first remove the headlight lenses. You can do this by taking the proper type of screwdrivers and removing the screws or connections that are holding the headlight lenses on.

  • Next, once you have both the right and left headlight lenses off, take them to your work area. Now take the lemon over cleaner and spray it onto the inside of the headlight lense cover and let it sit on the inside of the headlight lense cover for a few minutes to break up the condensation.

  • Next, take the battery powered drill and the buffer bit and buff the lemon oven cleaner into the inside of the headlight lense cover until you have buffed away all of the condensation and cloudiness. Then take a clean rag and wipe away the excess until you have a clear headlight lense cover. Do this to both of the insides of both headlight lense covers.

  • Next, put the headlight lense covers back over the headlights and reinstall them to the car. Now take the lemon oven cleaner and spray it onto the outside of the headlight lense covers. Let the oven cleaner sit on the outside of the headlight lense cover long enough to break up the condensation and cloudiness.

  • Next, take the same batter powered drill and buffer bit and buff the lemon oven cleaner into the outside of the headlight lense covers. Then wipe away the excess with a clean rag. Do this to both of the headlight lense covers.

  • Lastly, take the water hose or a wet rag and wash off the outside of the headlight lense covers. Then wipe the outside of the headlight lense covers dry with another clean rag. Your headlights should now be shining normally on bright and dim.
