It has happened to many of us after leaving our car in a parking lot. Upon return, we notice that somebody caused a black scuff mark on the car's finish. A scuff can cause a nice car to loose its sharp look, and it takes away from the appearance. It is possible to remove a mark from a vehicle's body yourself. It just takes a few items to get the scuff out without ruining the car's paint job.
Wet a piece of ultra-fine, 2,000-grit, waterproof sandpaper lightly.
Gently rub the mark on the car with the sandpaper until it is gone. Don't rub too hard, or you could break through the clear coat of the paint finish.

Apply a polishing compound, such as Turtle Wax, with a clean cloth. Gently put the polish evenly throughout the area to restore the vehicle's shine. Keep polishing until the shine of the clear coat returns.
Apply a small amount of car wax, such as Liquid Turtle Wax, using a clean cloth. Spread the wax evenly throughout the area.
Let the wax dry for about 30 minutes.
Buff the finish with a clean, soft cloth.
