Things You'll Need

  • Dodge Dakota
  • Key
  • Remote door lock transmitters
  • Sit down in your Dodge Dakota and make sure all of the doors are closed and your seat belt is fastened so that you aren't confused by the fasten seat belt chime during the programming process.

  • Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position, Do not start the engine.

  • Hold down the "Unlock" button on your remote door lock transmitter for four seconds. Press the panic button immediately. When you hear a chime, let go of both buttons. You are now in programming mode and have one minute to program all of your Dodge Dakota remote door lock transmitters.

  • Take the first remote door lock transmitter to be programmed and hold down the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons at the same time for two seconds, Let them go and press the "Unlock" button. You will hear a chime. Repeat this step for all additional remote door lock transmitters that you need to program.
