How to Remove the Glove Box in a Jeep Wrangler

The jeep wrangler is a modern vehicle with a modern electrical system. As with all modern electrical systems, there are a number of blade fuses that must be present to protect various systems. In the Jeep Wrangler specifically, one fuse box is located directly behind the glovebox. As a result, accessing this fuse box requires the removal of the glove box itself. Fortunately, because of the obvious need to access the fuses, the glove box removal is an easy process that takes seconds and requires no tools

  • Open glovebox by pulling outward on the handle.

  • Open the glovebox only halfway, reach in and slip the hold strap off of the retaining wire located on the right side of the glove box opening.

  • While holding onto the glove box with both hands, lower it until you are able to separate it from the bottom three hinges. Once separated you have successfully removed the glovebox from the Jeep Wrangler. You have also gained access to the fuse box.
