How to Reset a Flat Tire Light on a BMW 745

The BMW 745i and 745Li feature a flat -tire monitor that keeps track of the inflation pressures in the tires as the car is driven. An alert is displayed on the control panel whenever the inflation pressure in one tire drops significantly compared to the pressure in the other tires. The warning light remains on the control panel continuously until the tire pressure monitor system is reset. Resetting the system initializes the pressure readings in each tire. The initialization should only be performed when all four tires are properly inflated in order for the system to work correctly.

  • Start the engine. Leave the 745 in park.

  • Press the computer info display button on the turn signal lever.

  • Turn the computer controller to the left or right until "Settings" is displayed. Press the select button.

  • Turn the controller to the left or right until "RPA" is displayed. Press the select button.

  • Turn the controller left or right until "Set" is displayed. Press the select button. The tire pressure monitor resets and the flat-tire light disappears.
