1981 Alfa Romeo Spider Oil Capacity

Remember "The Graduate"? In an era of muscle cars with V-8 engines and 300-plus horsepower, the Alfa Romeo Spider took a more refined route to automotive kicks; the lightweight, precision-handling, low-displacement route. It was 1969 -- just before the collective castration of muscle cars -- when the Spider Veloce hit American shores with its 1,779 cc engine. Its SPICA fuel injection allowed it to stay under the EPA's tightening emission guidelines for a few extra years without sacrificing any power. In 1981, the Alfa Romeo Spider featured a 1,962 cc, four-pot engine with a respectable-for-its-size 111 horsepower and 116 foot-pounds of torque.

Oil Type and Capacity

  • Alfa Romeo recommends using 15W-50 engine oil in the Spider's engine. It requires seven quarts of oil to fill the engine and the oil filter.
