With the extensive use of a vehicle during its daily travels, certain parts of the car can become worn over time. One major problem is that the engine will begin to leak oil. This can not only damage the condition of your engine but also the roads which the oil leaks on to, making is potentially dangerous for other drivers. If you find an engine leak on your Volvo Turbo, you must fix the problem immediately.
Locate which part of the engine the oil is leaking from on your Volvo Turbo. Check to make sure the leak is not coming from loose valve covers on the engine. Use a screwdriver to tighten the valve cover bolts to see if this stops the leak.
Check to make sure the oil drain plug is not loose and that there are no holes in the oil pan. Use steep putty to cover any holes you may find in the oil pan.
Use a socket wrench to check to see if all of the bolts attached to the oil pan are correctly in place.
Make sure the oil filter on the engine is correctly installed. The filter may have been damaged while the Volvo Turbo was in motion and will require a replacement.
Change the oil in the vehicle to see if that corrects the problem. The leak may just be unburnt gasoline from the bottom of the engine. The longer you wait before changing your oil the more likely this will occur.
