The oil change indicator light introduced in Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles was intended help car owners keep up to date on their vehicle maintenance. Unfortunately, the indicator runs on an internal tracker and does not account for things like personal oil changes or the differences between synthetic and traditional motor oil. If you need to turn off this indicator in your Dodge 3500 truck, it can be reset through the use of a "secret" code.
Insert your key into the vehicle ignition of your Dodge truck.
Turn the key to the "On" position, but do not start the vehicle.
Press the gas pedal all the way to the floor three times in rapid succession.
Turn the key to the "Off" position. This should reset your oil change indicator light.
