How to Reset the Oil System in a 2005 Pacifica

The 2005 Chrysler Pacifica computer monitors the distance your car has traveled since the last oil change to remind you when your next oil change is due. The Pacifica's instrument panel will alert you when it is time to have your car serviced for an oil change. If you opt to change the oil at home, you need to reset the service interval on the instrument panel to ensure proper system alerts in the future.

Things You'll Need

  • Ignition key
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to "ACC."

  • Press the "Step" button on the instrument panel until the display shows "0 Miles to Service."

  • Press and hold the "Reset" button until the display shows "3000 Miles to Service."

  • Turn the key to "OFF" and remove it from the ignition.
