The Toyota Yaris information center includes an indicator to alert you when your car is due for an oil change. The maintenance alert system helps you avoid missing an oil change and potentially damaging the engine. If you choose to change the oil yourself, you need to reset the oil indicator so that the maintenance timer will alert you at the appropriate time to once again change the oil. Reset the alert in minutes at home.
Insert the ignition key and turn it to the "ON" position. Set the trip meter to the "A" setting.
Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position. Press in the trip meter reset knob and hold it while turning the ignition key to the "ON" position.
Hold the reset knob for a minimum of 5 seconds. Watch for the indicator lights to flash and the odometer to flash "000000."
Turn the ignition key to "OFF" and remove it from the car.
