Emergency Road Service Benefits of AAA

Whether it's a road trip to Vegas or driving just a few miles to the grocery store, the unpredictability factor often comes into play, even with the most reliable vehicles. Flat tires, locking your keys in the car, or running out of gas frustrates even the most tempered person. But members of the American Automobile Association (AAA) benefit from a wide array of emergency roadside services that help drivers in their times of need 24 hours a day.

Car Batteries

  • Many times as a result of a failed battery, a vehicle does not start. AAA offers mobile battery testing and replacement services. If the vehicle needs a jump start, AAA provides this service as well. In addition, if the battery fails, AAA offers professional installation of a new battery at a discounted price.

Member Coverage

  • AAA roadside service covers the driver, not just the registered vehicle. If the AAA member drives a friend's vehicle or a rental and it breaks down, the emergency roadside service policy covers that car. In addition, if the member is a passenger in the vehicle, the policy still provides the service.

Towing Services

  • A primary feature for AAA members includes towing services across the United States and Canada. AAA offers members four service calls per year, with specific mileage guidelines for each type of membership. Premier Members receive up to 200 miles on one tow, and up to 100 miles on the remaining three tows. Plus Members receive 100 miles, and Classic Membership offers seven miles.

For members driving recreational vehicles or motorcycles, AAA membership offers an RV/motorcycle towing option. It allows up to four towing and tire-changing services per year without charge for the RV or motorcycle. In addition, it also includes RV and motorcycle towing up to 100 driving miles.

Emergency Fuel

  • AAA Premier and Plus memberships feature enough free emergency fuel to drive to the nearest gas station. Classic Members must pay for the fuel provided. In addition, if your vehicle requires diesel fuel, mentioning that during the service call helps route the appropriate and available personnel to your destination.

Car Keys

  • Locking yourself out of the car happens even to the most organized and conscientious people. Service personnel attempt entry-access methods with different tools, but if unsuccessful, vehicle locksmith services become available. The plan features fully covered and reimbursable expenses. Premier Members receive up to $150 in parts and labor; Plus Members receive up to $100; and Classic Members get up to $60.

Flat Tire Service

  • Running over a nail or accidentally jumping over the curb usually results in a flat tire. Members take advantage of the efficient flat tire services offered by AAA's emergency roadside service. If the driver owns a serviceable spare tire, the technician replaces the tire. If a spare is unavailable, the technician tows the car to the nearest service station.
