How to Replace Run Flat With Non Run Flat on a BMW

Many cars today including BMW come equipped with run-flat tires. Run-flat tires are designed to maintain their structural integrity even after being punctured. The downside to these tires is that they are difficult to find, not to mention very expensive and you only have about 50 miles of use after they get damaged. BMWs do not require run-flat tires, so you can replace them with non-run-flat tires at a much cheaper cost.

  • Look inside your door panel, your owners manual, repair manual or online for the proper size tire for your BMW.

  • Choose your tires at a tire supply dealer. Order them, if necessary. You may also choose to purchase a spare tire and rim. Run-flat equipped cars typically do not come with spare tires.

  • Have the tires mounted on the car, and on the newly purchased rim.
