How to Tune an Edelbrock 750

Tuning the Edelbrock 750 carburetor regularly will keep the motor running more efficiently and give you better engine performance as well as more fuel mileage. The Edelbrock 750 is not difficult to tune, and can be accomplished in about 30 minutes with some basic tools. The Edelbrock 750 has two adjustment screws in the front of the carburetor, just under the name plate, allowing you to adjust the carburetor without removing the air cleaner.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Vacuum gauge
  • Turn both adjustment screws on the Edelbrock 750 carburetor clockwise with a screwdriver until the screws bottom out without over-tightening them. Turn the screws back counterclockwise one full turn, and start the motor.

  • Let the engine warm up until the choke cover inside the carburetor barrel opens up, and pull the vacuum hose off the vacuum port on the front of the carburetor. Attach the vacuum gauge to the vacuum port, and adjust both screws a quarter turn at a time, alternating back and forth until you reach the highest reading possible on the gauge with the engine running smoothly.

  • Turn the idle mixture screw on the front right side of the carburetor a quarter turn counterclockwise to get a leaner setting.
