An electronic ignition system is meant to solve common ignition problems in cars and other machines when they stop running. It can carry an increased current that is needed to produce higher system voltages to ignite leaner air-fuel mixtures. It also enables better high-speed performance of a vehicle. You can make your own electronic ignition system in your garage with a few tools and caution.
Cut a 1- or 2-inch piece of straw that is the width of a matchstick with a pocket knife or razorblade. Take a bundle of wiring and use wire strippers to pull out one strand of wire, cutting it slightly longer than the straw so that a bit of it sticks out at one end.
Insert the wire into the piece of straw. Seal one end of the instrument with a glue stick and then a lighter so that none of the wire can escape. There should be a portion of empty space running alongside the wire.
Add matches or other items that are heat-activated into the tube.
Seal the other end of the tube with a glue stick. Carefully heat the end of it with the lighter, ensuring that the glue does not ignite.
