Eagle One’s Surface Prep Mitt is Quicker than Clay

If you’ve ever used a clay bar to remove surface contaminants from your car’s paint, you were probably amazed at how much of a difference it makes in how clean and smooth the surface is. The only real drawback to using a clay bar is that it’s time consuming. Eagle One’s Next Level Surface Prep Mitt uses a rubber polymer to pull contaminants from paint and the large surface area makes it much faster than a small bar of clay. Here are the steps we followed to clean.

Eagle One Surface Prep Mitt Quick Test 01 After washing your car to remove the normal dust and dirt, the Surface Prep Mitt is the next step in cleaning. We choose a shady spot on this 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat so the surface was cool. Eagle One Surface Prep Mitt Quick Test 02 We sprayed a light mist of Eagle One Wipe & Shine Detailer to the paint surface and then periodically to the mitt to allow contaminants to flow out. Eagle One Surface Prep Mitt Quick Test 03 Just like a clay bar, use the mitt to polish the surface. We found that a light spray caused just a bit of drag, similar to the feel of a clay bar. Too much spray detailer and the mitt would just slide around without doing its job. Eagle One Surface Prep Mitt Quick Test 04 Eagle One supplied a sheet of cellophane to help feel the difference the Surface Prep Mitt makes. Our decklid is now noticeably more smooth and ready for a coat of wax.
