Pinpoint steering precision and optimal adhesion were right at the top of the list of requirements for the ContiSportContact™ 5 P and were developed and tested in close cooperation with our original equipment and tuning customers. In order to combine maximum safety and driving pleasure, the ContiSportContact™ 5 P was individually adapted to the specific requirements of the front and rear axle positions.

45 degree-angled 3D grooves in the block sides prevent the block edge from tilting creating a larger ground contact patch for shorter braking distances on dry roads.
Rigid, stable central ribs and asymmetrical tread ribs provide optimal circumferential rigidity of the tire, reducing movement in the tread resulting in perfect steering precision and exceptional handling.
Flexible "macro-block" design in the outside shoulder and solid central ribs provide optimal adjustment to the road surface, increasing the contact surface during high-speed cornering for the best grip and maximum stability.
Increased number of small tread bars aide the penetration of the water film on the road surface, meaning less water beneath the tread for better wet grip.
