Intake For The '02-'-06 MINI Cooper S
Advanced Flow Engineering (AFE), an industry leader in performance intakes, filters, manifolds, and exhaust systems, released its Stage 2 air intake system for the '02 to '06 Mini Cooper S with a supercharged 1.6L four-cylinder motor, PN 54-10572 and 51-10572.

AFE Stage 2 air intake systems utilize specially designed polished intake tubes that maximize air velocity and improve horsepower, torque, and throttle response. The durable, one-piece, 18-gauge powdercoated heat shield blocks out engine heat and uses factory-mounting locations. This kit also comes with a brushed aluminum cover to keep out engine heat and provide an aggressive style. The first model (54-10572) includes the patented Pro-5R filter that utilizes five layers of progressive cotton media, producing excellent filtration and maximum flow while the other model (51-10572) includes the brand-new Pro-Dry S filter, which uses a synthetic media and requires no oil to recharge for maximum convenience.

In recent testing, part 54-10572 produced 5 hp and 6 lb-ft of torque and had 49 percent more airflow than the factory intake.
