Garage FR-S - Initial Timing June 2013

So it’s been a while since we’ve had a nice new car to work on. We do rarely get to build project cars for our company or on other people’s dime. The typical project cars you see in our magazine are owned by us or by our friends and are mostly funded privately.

This month’s cover car is our company’s own Scion FR-S. The FR-S took everyone by the seat last year, and we wanted our own. Rather than give it solely to us (yes, we did try) our company decided to split the car up with three magazines, Super Street, Modified, and yours truly.

Super Street took care of the interior and wheel selection, while Modified took care of the performance modifications. We here at Import Tuner took care of the paint, body kit, and brakes. TRA Kyoto’s Rocket Bunny kit is still the ballsiest widebody kit out there and we had to have. Take a look back at our last few issues for the step-by-step buildup. Also, check out our two brethren magazines for articles on their involvement.

Yeah, it might be kind of egotistical for us to put our own car on the cover. But come on, the FR-S is the newest kid on the block and this team built one of the dopest FR-S’s at last year’s SEMA show, if not the dopest FR-S stateside.
