As our Project CR-Z is winding down, there has been a few products recently released that we were dying to try—one of them being a newly developed rear antisway bar from Progress Group, Inc. The company has been involved in the development of high-performance suspension components since the mid-’90s, and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. In fact, it has taken the development bull by the horns, so to speak, with an in-house engineering process that includes design, prototype, R&D, and advanced testing. The result is an industry-leading product, made right here in the U.S. that serves duty on some of the fastest competitors in the world (NASA, Honda Challenge, etc.).

As with all of Progress Group’s goods, installation is straightforward and fitment is excellent. The process doesn’t take more than an hour, and though a lift is recommended, it’s definitely not mandatory. You could certainly pull this off in your garage using jack stands and typical hand tools.

Confidence inspiring. The only two words you need to know when asking about the effectiveness of Progress Group’s rear antisway bar. Our CR-Z, relying on a few bolt-ons, was never going to be a powerhouse, and we won’t dispute that fact. However, in the handling department, the Project CR-Z is simply a little monster. Helping to make up for the painfully underpowered 1.5L, the Progress Group rear antisway bar added a new level of confidence from the moment you enter a turn, right up to the very last instance, completing a turn with your body clenched as it fights to stay properly seated. Offering a few trips around the block to friends and coworkers produced essentially the same reaction: “This thing rips!” The effectiveness of Progress Group’s bar is remarkable, and for the price, there simply are no better options for improving the handling of your CR-Z. Period.
