2015 Chevrolet Tahoe - Get On The Level

Last month, we showed you how to lower your new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. But maybe that isn’t your style. If you go to the mountains or desert and want meatier tires, then this system is perfect. It comes from Crown Suspension and consists of a front strut spacer (PN: 931330, $100.00) and a rear coil spring spacer (PN: 1628, $50.00). The best part is that it costs $150 and installs in less than an hour. To complement the toughness of the Tahoe, we sourced a set of 20x9 Black Rhino Sierra wheels and wrapped them with 305/55R20 Nitto Trail Grappler rubber. With the parts and Tahoe in hand, we pulled into our Eastwood tech center and got to work adding some flair to this ’Hoe
"As you can see, the Tahoe just looks mean with a simple leveling kit and bigger tires."

The all-stock Tahoe looked like it belonged in the parking lot of a bank -- not cruising the trails and backroads. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Factory Sway Bar   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Factory Sway Bar 2. After removing the wheels and tires, we unbolted the sway bar from the lower control arm. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Nuts From The Strut   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Nuts From The Strut 3. Next, the top nuts from the strut were removed and set aside. They will be reused later. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Entire Strut Was Lowered   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Entire Strut Was Lowered 4. The two lower bolts were also loosened, and the entire strut was lowered from the vehicle. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe 3 Inch Spacer   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe 3 Inch Spacer 5. Over on the workbench, we installed the 3-inch spacer to the top of the strut using the factory hardware. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Upper Control Arm   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Upper Control Arm 6. Since the new strut assembly is taller, we had to unbolt the spindle from the upper control arm for reassembly. First, we removed the outer tie-rod end. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Upper Ball Joint   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Upper Ball Joint 7. Next, the upper ball joint was unbolted and pried from the spindle. This gave us the requisite room to squeeze the taller strut assembly into place. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Strut   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Strut 8. The strut was bolted into place using three new nuts, which were included in the kit. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Reassembled The Front   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Reassembled The Front 9. The lower bolts were then threaded up to hold the bottom of the strut securely to the lower control arm. We then reassembled the front and moved to the rear. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Lower Shock Bolt   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Lower Shock Bolt 10. The first step was to remove the lower shock bolt. Then the sway bar was unbolted to give the axle enough droop to install the spacer. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Factory Coil Spring Cup   |   11. Here you can see how the factory coil spring cup sits inside the spacer and the spacer rests on top of the axle. This gives the rear a 1½-inch lift that makes the Tahoe sit even. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Sway Bar And Shocks   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Sway Bar And Shocks 12. The sway bar and shocks were reattached and the install was complete. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Monster Lug   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe Monster Lug 13. To hold our wheels on, we ordered these lug nuts from Monster Lug. They come in multiple colors and even have different colored caps that can be swapped out. 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe 2014 Black Rhino Wheels And Nitto Tires   |   2015 Chevrolet Tahoe 2014 Black Rhino Wheels And Nitto Tires 14.The new-for-2014 Black Rhino wheels and Nitto tires really set off the look of the Tahoe.
