Suspension Lift Kit on a Ford F-350 - Pro Comp Package Deal

After the easy stuff like intake and exhaust, the modification most of us want to make to our big diesel pickups is a lift kit. “Get that sucker up in the air so you can get some big wheels and monster meats on it,” is the usual line of thought.   |   0902 8l 01 Pro Comp Suspension On Ford F350 Ford F350 But lift kits vary greatly in their concept of how to properly lift a truck without messing up the geometry and clearances, and some are far easier to install than others. You have your homework set out for you when you start researching lift kits. We can’t go into the details of every lift kit available here in these pages, but we can report back to you that the Pro Comp suspension system is intelligently designed by long-time professionals and is a lot less complicated than many kits we’ve seen. We spent a day at the Pro Comp facilities in Chula Vista, California, to watch a suspension system with traction bars being installed. We learned that Pro Comp is constantly striving to make its kits easier to install with less drilling, less cutting, and fewer alignment variables. The CAD-design engineering and laser-cutting technology ensures precisely built parts, and the team of engineers that analyze each kit make sure they install correctly. The result is no surprises at the shop during your installation. Pro Comp wisely suggests that you have a professional mechanic install your kit, although we can see how a competent amateur with a similarly knowledgeable friend could get the job done. This particular kit, PN 52602 for ’99-’04 Ford Super Duty 2WD trucks (F-250 and F-350) is a very uncomplicated install and, with a crew of two, the truck was ready to hit the road in less than a full day’s work. Pro Comp set us up with Ryan Kennelly and Kurt Farrar for this install and they went at it at a nice pace that accommodated photographs and still allowed us to be back on the road just in time to hit rush hour traffic. So, read on and check out the photos to see what’s involved with this kit. We didn’t include every necessary step, but in the eight pages of this story, you should have a very clear idea about the quality and intelligence of this kit. If you want every step, check out the 14-page instruction manual from Pro Comp. It’s worth noting that Pro Comp really puts a lot of effort into its instructions with highly detailed line drawings and clear explanations of what needs to be done. Kudos to Pro Comp.
