Taking photos of the truck was a challenging task since we shot it after the ProCharger blower was installed, so you can imagine how tough it was to keep up with. Not only was this truck supercharged but it also features ProCharger's intercooler system, which gives the truck lower air intake temps, full timing, increased low-end boost, and a wider, accessible power band. There is a huge difference in just reading those performance testimonies on paper and actually watching ProCharger's research and development in action. The other vehicles on the road were completely blurred while we chased the Silverado through traffic during our quest for heart-pounding action shots. Surprisingly enough, we even managed to avoid catching a speeding ticket. We had a chance to watch as Joe Conduff and Brian Doyen of HOT Motorsports in Santa Ana, California, transformed Nica Tirla's Silverado into a menacing street machine. ProCharger is known for making huge power numbers at the dragstrip, but with its recent investment in upgraded tuning, each kit provides reliability along with increased performance. This kit simply bolted on with basic hand tools. Another bonus, the kit was ordered in a polished finish, which improved the looks of the engine bay and had everyone complimenting the design. Our dyno was being worked on when the install was completed, but a realistic increase of 145 hp to the wheels should have the Silverado smoking the rear tires. In a matter of a few hours, we were staring into the eyes of a beast. Check out how we went from commuter to screamer with the addition of ProCharger's intercooled supercharger system.

After the installation, you can pretty much guarantee that everything you would expect from a ProCharger intercooled supercharger was delivered to us in spades. In the lower RPM range, more rear-wheel torque is now available due to the denser, cooler air temperature and in the mid to higher ranges, we gained more power per pound of boost. With all of the added performance gains, the Silverado maintains its daily drivability - after all, the engine has been modified to be more efficient. The guys at HOT Motorsports completed the installation within six hours. After only being under the knife between the hours of mid-morning to mid-afternoon, the '08 Chevy Silverado was up and ready to hit the streets with a serious vengeance. Racking up speeding tickets is inevitable, but it would be a sin not to mash on this truck's hot gas pedal. Your Questions Answered Time Spent Working: 5-1/2 hours
