Speed Demon Carb Install

Are you having nightmares about the jumble of wires and multiple fuel lines that are necessary to put a “reliable and efficient” fuel injection system on your motor? If you want an easy bolt-on solution, your answer is a Demon, more specifically one of the four new pieces from Demon Carburetion.

These slick new carburetors not only look good; they make your engine run even better. The Demon carburetors were specifically designed for easy tuning, as well as being more forgiving to high-performance engines than a delicate and temperamental fuel injection system. Another advantage over a costly injection system, the well-designed Demon carbs are priced reasonably enough to leave some money in your pocket to burn up a whole bunch of fossil remains.

For our install on a ’69 L-88 450hp 427ci Chevy big-block, we chose an 850-cfm Speed Demon to supply the race gas to the 12.5:1 monster. From the first firing, the Demon made the engine run great straight out of the box.

Our original intent was to provide some before and after dyno numbers on this install, but before we could finish up with some fine tuning and get back onto the dyno, some dirt bag loser stole the wicked El Camino that the engine was installed in from a swap meet parking lot. So for right now follow along as we show you how simple it is to bolt down a Demon.
