Truck Trend Garage: GM Trucks

Question: I find it amusing that in "Truck Trend Garage," 85 percent of all the letters featured are typically from owners of GM trucks. If that doesn't prove what I've been telling my buddies for 30 years now, I don't know what does. Thanks for the good chuckles. I'm happy to not own another GM.   |   Truck Trend Garage Bow Tie Guy Answer: Interesting observation -- I'll have to check with Allyson on our brand-to-question ratio. You may be pretty darn close, but we have to keep all the variables in mind. Number one: General Motors sells a whole lot of trucks. Number two: There's no denying GM has had some big-time quality/reliability issues. But leading to number three -- to be fair, a lot of the readers' questions are about older trucks. And I believe the Big Three are on the upswing. It seems Ford began improvements before the economy crash, and the others are now following suit. At the same time, it's like a seesaw; the Japanese manufacturers seem to be slipping from their predominant role in bulletproof quality production.
