2008 Ford Super Duty - A Step Up

2008 Ford Super Duty amp Research Power Steps   |   Amp Research Power Steps are there when you need them, and they're gone when you don't. After the door closes, they tuck out of the way completely under the truck. Running boards are a great addition to your truck, especially if it's lifted; it's no fun trying to jungle-gym your way into the truck without 'em. Problem is, when going off-road, they're often the first trail casualties. When trying to negotiate around trees, boulders, and ditches, it's easy to forget there are a set of running boards out there just waiting to get damaged. With our project Super Duty, that's exactly what happened-the factory running board (the vehicle's lowest point) got smashed while off-roading. We needed a solution to our new mangled running-board problem, and we got one with a set of Amp Research Power Steps. These running boards use strong electric motors that will last for thousands of cycles (similar to an electric window motor) and cast-aluminum hinges to lower a step out from underneath the truck so occupants can climb in. When you're inside the truck, the running boards will tuck under the frame and be protected from the weather and any damage caused by four-wheeling. They also have a cool amp-draw safety feature built in that will not allow the running boards to close or deploy if there are objects (like rocks) in the way. That way, no objects underneath the truck or caught in the running boards are damaged and neither are the running boards themselves. The Power Steps are made from powdercoated, corrosion-resistant aluminum and come with a three-year warranty.
