Auto Insurance Claims: claims, first deer, interactive website

Question
back in April I hit a deer and reported it to my insurance company who quickly fixed it and all is well. when it came time to renew, they didn't renew me,  so I had to look elsewhere. I found geico this past November. Well, Xmas day evening I hit another deer with my same truck and reported it to them. However two days prior to the deer hit, I was online playing with my deductibles with tier interactive website. I lowered them. This sent up a red flag. Not knowing that his could be a problem, I get a phone call from the siu adjuster wanting to talk with me. Still not understanding what is going on here, he met me at work and we went over the accident again and again and again. He told me that I was young and I should be honest cause I have a lot to loose, etc,,,, I began to get angry with him because I was telling him the truth. he then said that my previous damage from the first deer hit couldn't have been that much and I was lying and falsifying information.  I should just be honest with him. I couldn't believe what he was saying to me.  Yes in retrospect now I know it does look a bit suspicious but I have no luck with defers, and now he is looking at my previous claim and damage, and asking me if there were any witnesses and there was my friend in the car with me but he was passed out cause he was too drunk to stand up..  So never being in this position before, I am a bit stressed. What should I expect? no one is talking to me, or giving me any information.  how far will he take this? I am totally being honest here.  I understand that he is doing his job but he could potentially ruin my life if he wanted to?

thanks for your response

Answer
If you are telling the truth, you should be fine.  He is trying to get you to withdraw the claim because he suspects that you are committing fraud.  But he does not know this, it is just a suspicion.

If your truck was repaired from the first accident, then the first insurer and body shop will have records of this.  So the new damage can be compared to the prior damage and you can show there were 2 different collisions.  It is suspcicious when someone lowers their deductible shortely before a loss, but this can and does happen legitimately all the time.  You can't predict an accident.

He cannot deny your claim because he is suspicious.  He must have proof.  It sounds like he has no proof.  And he cannot delay unnecessarily.  Let him know you are telling the truth, you did nothing wrong, and you expect payment immediately.  If not, you will file a complaint with the state insurance department, and then do so.
