Auto Insurance Claims: Damage settlement, total loss

Question
I have a 90 Lincoln Town which was considered totaled by the other person's insurance company.  They want to settle for alot less then the NADA book value.  They refuse to go any higher.  Do I have any recourse?

Answer
Well, you have some recourse, but you need a professional opinion.  When you say NADA book value, are you talking about the retail value, trade in value, loan value, rough trade in, etc. . .?

You get the idea, right?  Every value calculation requires a little bit of speculation.  If you want to fight for the value of a 1990 Lincoln, it probably is not worth an expert opinion.  Our company provides certified vehicle values for use in total loss settlements, but I don't think your Lincoln would warrant the cost.

I tell you what, you send me the data from the insurance company that reflects the value of your vehicle, and then send me the information on your vehicle, and I'll tell you for free whether or not you have a leg to stand on.

The only way to prove an adjuster wrong is by employing a more credible and experienced adjuster.
