Auto Insurance Claims: frame damage, wheel alignment, frame damage

I I have a 2003 ford f250 crew cab lariat pick up with 67k. it was cherry. I was hit left front knocked about 10 ft sideways and the result was around $9,000 damage so far and frame damage to the front of my truck. they say they fixed it but what does this do to the value of my truck.

Frame damage is the most serious of all types of collision damage, as it has not always been properly repaired in the past, which has resulted in the well known example of a car that "crabs" or goes down the road sideways. Make sure you take it to a competent shop for the repairs, one that can prove their training and certification in the field of frame repairs. To be certain, get a copy of a wheel alignment print out from a system that will provide such (they all do now) and see to it that the specs are within the ranges shown.

As for the value of your truck, its resale will be diminished substantially on the basis of the collision and frame damage. Once disclosed to a potential purchaser, one will either back off entirely or lower one's offer substantially. The good news is that if the party that caused the accident has insurance, you are owed a settlement for the loss of value, otherwise known as diminished value.
