Auto Insurance Claims: Fire Damage, automobile fire claim, car fire claim

Question
Yesterday, I took my car 1999 Porsche Carerra 911 to a prospective buyer to sell.  He and his friend took it for a test drive and shortly there after, the engine caught on fire and completely burned.  The cab is fine, but nothing is left from the engine.  Luckily, both passengers are fine.  I feel very guilty that they went through this horrible incident...

I called my insurance company and they said it may or may NOT be covered with my comprehensive insurance.  They wanted the Fire Departments report to review.

The Fire Department noted the following:

Origin of Fire-Engine Area, running gear, wheel area.
Heat Source: Heat from powered equipment (other)
Cause of Ignition: Failure of equipment or heat source.
Item 1st Ignited:  Flammable liquid/gas-uncontained
Material 1st Ignited: Flammable or combustible liquid (other)

I have kept the car in great shape and have always serviced it when needed.  In fact, I have all the receipts from my services.

Question: Would this fire be covered under my comprehensive insurance?

Answer
Yes, it should be covered. They may be stalling to see if their investigation can show that you somehow intentionally set the car on fire or set up a delayed fuse. If they don't decide within 15 days, consider the eBook at UClaim.com on denied auto claims. If they cover it but lowball the value, consider the eBook on Total Loss Auto.
